Process to Become a Member of the Nacogdoches County Mounted Patrol □ Attend a practice on Tuesday. (No horse necessary) □ Receive and Read through the NACCMP New Member Packet from a representative. □ If Interested, fill out an application, to be submitted during a Business meeting. □ Meet with at least two of the Officers, and the Drill Captain. □ Attend the business meetings, and participate with members: 30 days for Non-riding, and 90 days for Riding Members. After probation time, your membership will be voted on during a business meeting.
Member Responsibilities
Riding Member- “A Riding member is an active member that participates in the drill team functions and has access to a horse, trailer and vehicle which will meet the requirements of the Organization.”
□ You will ride with the team for 90 days so the drill captain and officers can assess your qualifications and abilities before you are voted on as a Member during a Business meeting. At that time, your $25 annual membership fee will be due. □ If you are unable to attend an event, meeting, or practice, you must call an officer before-hand for your absence to be excused. □ If you obtain 8 or more unexcused absences, or your membership dues are not current, you become a Non- Good Standing Member □ It is the responsibility of active members to attend Organizational meetings and activities and be responsible for voting in all circumstances that are not under the specific duties of the Officers □ You will need to acquire all the items on the List in your New Member Packet. □ Strive to always have a positive attitude and work with the other members on your team. □ Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and have Fun! We are excited to have you join our organization, and hope you are too. We know you will be a wonderful, dedicated addition to our group.
Non-Riding Member- “Non Riding Members are members that do not meet the Riding Members requirements, but are in “good standing” with the Organization.” This also includes Auxiliary Members.
□ There is a 30 day probation period before you can be voted in as a Non-Riding or Auxiliary Member during a Business Meeting. At that time your $25 annual membership fee will be due. □ You will need to attend all business meetings, and events. You are not required to be at the weekly practice sessions. If you are unable to attend an event, or meeting, you must call an officer before-hand for your absence to be excused. □ If you obtain 8 or more unexcused absences, or your membership dues are not current, you become a Non- Good Standing Member □ It is the responsibility of active members to attend Organizational meetings and activities and be responsible for voting in all circumstances that pertain to “non-riding activities.” □ You will need to acquire the items for Non-Riding Members, on the list in your New Member Packet. □ Non-Riding and Auxiliary Members are very important to our organization.
